While analyzing enrollment data is an essential part of succeeding in today’s competitive higher ed space, staffing an on-campus data team can be a difficult and expensive endeavor. However, when you partner with MARKETview, you get your own expert team of analysts dedicated to solving your most challenging queries.
In this blog, we’re taking a look behind the scenes at a few of those talented data professionals and detailing the collaborative process at work behind MARKETview’s data insights.
Morgan Jackson, Ph.D., Senior Data Analyst

Jackson has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, along with a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics. Her unique academic background informs her work as a MARKETview analyst, not just through her inherent math skills, but also in her rigor for researching and drawing conclusions out of data. Her experience working on her dissertation — predictive modeling of mosquito-borne diseases — synced up nicely with her contributions to MARKETview’s predictive higher ed models. Jackson shared how her experiences working on her Ph.D. prepared her to work with real-time, comparative enrollment data.
“Having to analyze a lot of data for my dissertation prepared me well for joining MARKETview,” Jackson said. “It’s given me the ability to look at the data in new ways and dig through relevant literature to piece together a bigger picture.”
Jackson’s specialized expertise is just one part of the broad range of skills and specializations making up the MARKETview analyst team. She explained how the MARKETview team uses their diverse interests to collaboratively approach the data.
“MARKETview analysts have a wide variety of knowledge. My background is very math focused, but others have backgrounds in data science, data analytics or statistics. We can all bounce ideas off each other to solve analytical tasks in new ways.”

Alberto d’Amore, Senior Data Scientist
Growing up in El Salvador, d’Amore came to the United States to pursue his education. Before joining the MARKETview team, he earned a degree in computational modeling and data analytics, with a minor in math and computer science. d’Amore described how his journey as an international student shapes his contributions to the MARKETview data team.
“I’d say that how Americans view college versus how people abroad look at it, especially with American institutions, is very different,” d’Amore said. “So, mixing my college experiences with the passion the MARKETview team has for getting students to the right school gives me a unique view of the data.”
d’Amore has been a part of the MARKETview team for over three years, gaining experience working on projects for colleges and universities across the United States. He explained how the vast nature of MARKETview’s global data set uniquely prepares him and his team to tackle a large variety of analytical tasks.

“We have an incredible breadth of experience from working with our 175+ clients. We’ve seen a lot of do’s and don’ts, a lot of different scenarios. Your internal data team is a great resource on campus. Our team enhances their work using the aggregated experiences we’ve gained by working with schools across the country.”
– Alberto d’Amore
Will Thompson, Senior Data Analyst

Thompson got his start in the higher ed world at Virginia Commonwealth University, working in their office of student activities and with their study abroad program. It was there where he also began working with enrollment data — transitioning into an admissions data specialist role and eventually becoming the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
During the pandemic, Thompson decided to pursue a decision analytics degree, leading him to join the MARKETview team as a data analyst. After working in an admissions office, Thompson brings a personal passion to his task of helping institutions meet their goals. He described how his experiences have shaped his current mindset working side by side with enrollment teams.
“I have a good understanding of the enrollment staff members that I work with because they’re in similar roles and organizational structures that I was,” Thompson said. “I’ve been asked to compile institutional research or analysis in the past, so I’m very supportive and protective of the data contacts that I work with.”
Thompson works primarily with MARKETview’s Financial Aid Optimization team, helping institutions build the most effective aid policies for meeting their enrollment and revenue goals. He detailed how his team utilizes MARKETview’s comprehensive real-time, comparative database to tailor their modeling to each school they work with.
“Our models can be very segmented and customized to each school. If an institution wants insight into an athletics program or a particular performing arts program, we can model that population differently because we know that they perform differently.”
– Will Thompson
